Why We Have The J.B. Hunt Haiti Medical Clinic

In 2006, Mission To Haiti broke ground on a new medical clinic. It would be the headquarters for our Mobile Medical Teams and our work with the sponsored children. Since the beginning, Mission To Haiti brought Medical Teams to Haiti. They served the churches, schools and communities. But they needed a base of operations to provide consistent care.

Mr. J.B. Hunt saw the need to have this facility and graciously agreed to fund the construction of the clinic. His generous contribution, along with the prayers and support of others, made the clinic a reality. In honor of his great generosity, we have named this facility The J.B. Hunt Haiti Medical Clinic.

The Work of The J.B. Hunt Haiti Medical Clinic

Mission To Haiti sponsors children in 15 Christian schools. The J.B. Hunt Haiti Medical Clinic is located at our mission campus. It provides health care for our sponsored children on a regular basis. As funds are available, the clinic expands its care to the families and people of the community.

We have a crew of Haitian professionals who serve in the clinic. Our registered nurse and clinic supervisor travel to the schools giving wellness checks and treating minor illnesses. Once a week, our clinic doctor is available to see children who need more treatment. In cases of emergencies, a local hospital will see anyone we send who needs surgery or special care.
